Self-belief
The most underrated quality to have and the hardest one to get.
White-headed vulture (Trigonoceps occipitalis) with oils on an A4 canvas.
This is the first one I didn’t sketch at all. I just started with the oils and it was very scary, but I loved it.
What a change in themes… isn’t it? I finally made this place perfect for me.
I didn’t know you could customize your space so much, not just the colors (discovered the settings menu by accident, by the way). I’ve always liked my themes dark. Here, it’s not only dark, but dark blue. I changed the layout on my homepage, as well as the image on top. As my dad is a designer at heart, I have inherited his instincts for placement balance and got a chance to show it. I feel this looks much more professionally done, or, at least thought out. I like the atmosphere… it’s dark and deep, but has some creativity and light. We talked about colors and the corresponding ambiance and feeling when we had to make sites, but I rely on my intuition most of the time.
Here is my website we had for homework (the last three birds I couldn’t finish, but still got an A), just know that it kinda sucks, because the platform I had to use to make it is crappy. It’s also in Bulgarian, because to make it in English would mean I have to completely redo everything. Sorry, but I can’t bring myself to do that… Maybe another year… I changed the birds’ names in the address link though. (it might be very glitchy on phones).
Now I feel happy to come here and schedule posts, because, to be honest, I was never happy with how this blog looked before and I was avoiding the discomfort of seeing it. It was chaotic. Now, it fits me perfectly — the color balance and hues, text style and overall layout of my posts. This makes me motivated to create and share. But, of course, I always create and write for myself and give the opportunity for people come along if they like.
Reading this is like looking at stars in the sky… The words are light against the dark. They give me hope.
This is what the inside of my head would look like… Dark and lost in thoughts about myself and the potential and what I already have. Maybe, just like today (literally spent the morning changing all this), when I found this hidden advanced settings menu, I was able to remake my environment to fit me, one day I will find a way to construct my life and personality the way my soul wants it to be.
I feel like I have a hidden layer that should get uncovered from the “dirt build-up” of negative thoughts I have sometimes. I know I have to get rid of them and I’ve been trying very hard. It’s not easy to change habits, but it’s easier if it’s done before it gets almost impossible…
P.S Planning to do another endangered bird “profile”. I should be able to do it before the next school year.
Have a great weekend!

I'd no idea designerism was hereditary! :D
